EXPERT PUBLISHING TRAINING FOR ROYAL NIOZ EMPLOYEES
The start of the new year offers a great opportunity to set new learning goals. We have. In 2018, all researchers of the Royal NIOZ on Texel and in Yerseke can improve their scientific output together with some of the best Nature editors. In masterclasses and online webinars. All the time.
How do you improve your research output and create the best possible journals for your work? With the Nature Masterclasses Online (NMO), current Nature journal editors help our researchers to develop writing and publishing skills.
During 2018 every NIOZ-researcher has access to the online training program, where they can create their own account and access the training when they need it. Each training module contains a mix of pre-recorded videos, exercises, and objectives. They vary in length from 30mins – 1.5 hours each.

Webinars are an easy way to enable researchers in scientific departments to interact with nature journal editors and take part in a Nature Masterclass. These live sessions can be tailored to fit a specific discipline or research area, have a maximum of 125 attendants and last between 1.5 – 2 hours each.
In 2018, two webinar programs are available which are; ‘An introduction to publishing’ and ‘Think like an editor’.
